The Sean Murray team claimed their third consecutive Wisconsin Mixed Championship on the ice of the Waupaca Curling Club, on Mar. 1. Curling with Murray are Heather Betzhold, Dan Wiza and Paige Caulum. The team amassed a winning record of 5-1 in a field of four teams.
Murray and his team head to Blaine, Minnesota for the National Mixed Championship which starts on Mar. 28. The Murray team will be tabbed as one of the favorites, having made the playoffs last year in Wisconsin Rapids.
There will be extra tension on the line this year for the National Mixed Championship, as the winner gets the opportunity to be Team USA for the first ever World Mixed Curling Championship, set for Berne, Switzerland, Sep. 12-19.
