Irv Mossberger, WSCA State Championship Chair reports that the 2021-22 State (Club) Championships are underway at the Superior Curling Club. 13 Men's teams representing the Superior, Blackhawk, Madison, Poynette, Eau Claire, and Kettle Moraine Curling Clubs are vying for the Wisconsin State Championship "Bucky" patches. Men's competition began Thursday afternoon and continues through Sunday, Dec. 12.
Two women's teams representing the Madison and Superior Curling Clubs begin play on Saturday, Dec. 11. Members of every team have to be dues paying, league playing members, all from the same curling club.
Along with the Champions patches, the winning teams will represent Wisconsin at the National Club Championships, at a site yet to be announced by the USCA.
The semifinals have now been set for the Men's Championship. Sunday morning, Mike Fraboni, Madison will take on Mark Olson, Blackhawk and Bergquist, Superior will take on Cory Ward, Eau Claire.
