The second time was a charm for the Mark Olson team representing the Blackhawk Curling Club, competing in the State Championship in Superior. Olson took second place two years ago in the 2020 championship losing the final to State Champion Willie Wilberg. This year they qualified for the final again this time against Brian Bergquist from the host club. Curling with Olson were Jeremy Stubbe as vice, Benjamin Randall at second and lead Tony Jacobson, all members of the Blackhawk Club in Janesville.
On the lady'sside, the Mandy Hampton team from Madison defeated a team representing the Superior Club to win the Wisconsin Women's Club Championship. Curling with Hampton were Sarah Kirchoff as vice, Brandi Kochera as second, and Nicole Bookout as lead.
The Olson and Hampton teams now qualify for the National Championship, which will be at a site and time, yet to be determined.
