Rhinelander Organizing a New Curling Club!

A look at the State of Wisconsin curling map shows a large void in the Northeastern part of the State.  That is about to change as we have received news that the community of Rhinelander is now organizing a curling club.  A trio of curling notables is helping to get the club off of the ground.  Terri Gleason, Paul Schaefer, and Geoff Goodland have announced that the Rhinelander Ice Arena will be the home of the new club.

The last curling club to form in Wisconsin is the Marshfield Curling Club which organized circa 1975.  (Some clubs have moved into larger buildings or new locations since that date, but Rhinelander would be the first new club to join the WSCA.)

They plan to begin with Learn-to-Curls in April using the arena ice and are looking for some help from the other clubs in the state.  They are asking for any used curling equipment that has been replaced in the current clubs, that still has some useful life.  Items such as brooms, stabilizers, sliders, pebblers, hacks, etc.   They are willing to take these items off your hands.

For more information or questions, you are asked to contact Terri at mntgleason@gmail.com.

Personally, I am looking forward to their first bonspiel!  Good luck to the Rhinelander Curling Club.
