Nina Roth Rink wins State Mixed Fours Championship

Marshfield Curling Club hosted the State Mixed Fours Championship o Feb.7-9.  The winning team was skipped by Nina Roth from the Madison Curling Club.  Curling with Nina were Shalon  Holbeck, Tony Roth , and Kroy Nernberger.  The team compiled a perfect 5-0 record while successfully defending their championship in 2024 earned in Clintonville.  The team moves on now to the National Mixed Championship in Denver, slated for April 16-20.

Club Champions Decided in Playdowns Held at Medford

The playdowns for the Wisconsin Club Championships were recently completed at the Medford Curling Club.  In a large field of 15 men's teams, the Dave Nelson rink from Madison emerged victorious 4-3 against the Dan Wiza team, also from Madison.  Curling with Nelson were Patrick Roe, Will Buckingham, and Erich Inglin.

Wendling: Wisconsin U18 Qualifier set for Stevens Point, Dec. 7-8

The 2024 qualifier will be held in Stevens Point this year on Dec 7-8.  Registration for the event is done through the USCA website and Sport 80 (registration closes mid Nov).  The winners of the event will represent Wisconsin at the U18 National event at the Rock Creek Curling Club in Colorado in January.  Age restrictions for the event are that the athlete must not turn 18 before July 1, 2024.  Team restrictions from the USCA include that at least 2 of the team members need to have Wisconsin residence.  WSCA requires that all of the members have a WI club membership, but does not require

La Crosse Teams Prevail in Arena Playdowns

Teams from La Crosse and Rhinelander curling clubs met in La Crosse to determine Wisconsin's representatives in the upcoming Arena Nationals. The following teams from La Crosse will compete in Arena Nationals.

Men: Dustin Luecke, Brian Bessert, Ryan Brown, Wes Wamsley (left to right)

Women: Kathryn Davis, Rachelle Hagen, Mara Keyes, Kaitlyn Hamann (left to right)

Rhinelander to host Hodag Open Bonspiel

Some of our Wisconsin curling members are proud to have curled in every curling club in Wisconsin. For those folks we have a new club to add to their list.  The Rhinelander Curling Club is set to host the Hodag Open Bonspiel, Oct. 25-27.

The spiel will have a Newbie Division and an Experienced Division.   The Newbie Division will consist of teams with at least two new curlers.  The Rhinelander Curling Club is situated in the northeastern region of Wisconsin and brings curling to a region of the state not represented before by a local club.
