McCormick Rink Takes Poynette Sticks and Stones Spiel

Debbie McCormick led her curling/golf team to a win in the Poynette Sticks and Stones Bonspiel jointly hosted by the  Saddle Ridge Golf Course, Portage and the Poynette Curling Club, May 19-21.   Curling with Debbie on the winning team were Nick DeJongh, and Shelly and Thud Kosal.   The runners-up were the Jared Ryan rink from Lodi CC.  Congratulations to all the teams that participated in the Sticks and Stones bonspiel, which wraps up the 2022-23 Curling Season.  We plan to kick off the 2023-24 season with Poynette Fall Curling scheduled to start on Sep. 5!    

WSCA Spring Meetings scheduled for May 13 At Tri-City Club

WSCA Secretary, Vietta Kampen has announced that the Spring Meetings for the WSCA will take place at the Tri-City Curling Club on May 13,  2023.  Both the Members meeting and the Board Of Directors meeting will convene.  The Members meeting  will begin at 10:00AM and the Board meeting will follow.  

 

 

Rhinelander Organizing a New Curling Club!

A look at the State of Wisconsin curling map shows a large void in the Northeastern part of the State.  That is about to change as we have received news that the community of Rhinelander is now organizing a curling club.  A trio of curling notables is helping to get the club off of the ground.  Terri Gleason, Paul Schaefer, and Geoff Goodland have announced that the Rhinelander Ice Arena will be the home of the new club.

Winning Teams at 2023 Badger Bonspiel

The Rice Lake Curling Club was host of the Badger Bonspiel this year.  Pictures of the teams Event winners are included here, in the following order:

 Winners of the First Event of the 2023 Badger Bonspiel were  the Madison rink  with Susan Dukes, Angie Montgomery, Stephanie Erstad and Annie Gravel

Winners of the Second Event were the Milwaukee rink of Lisa Johnson, Elizabeth Mader, Jen Honniwell and Lisa Muilenberg

Winners of the Third Event were the Madison Team of Lynn Brown, Callie Mauersetter, Melissa Woch and Kaitlyn Richardson.
