Spring Directors' Meeting and Annual Members' Meeting Saturday in Madison

The spring meeting of the WSCA board will take place Saturday, April 7th, at the Madison Curling Club beginning at 10:00 AM.  Topics of note on the agenda are the vote on the proposed USCA governance changes, election of State officers, and election of a State representative to the United States Curling Association.

Madison's Steve Day Rink Wins State Mixed

The Madison Curling Club rink of Steve Day, Emilia Juocys, Dan Wiza, Heather Van Sistine and fifth, Jackie Lemke, defeated Wauwatosa's Rob Hipke rink in a tiebreaker to win the Wisconsin Mixed championship on Sunday at the Clintonville Curling Club.  Team Day will represent Wisconsin at the Mixed Nationals March 17-24 in Portage.

Waukesha Outdoor Bonspiel Cancelled

Greg Dunlop has reported that due to poor ice conditions, the Waukesha Outdoor Bonspiel, scheduled for January 28, has been cancelled.

Haag and Jensen Rinks - State Junior Champions

 Congratulations to the Jenna Haag (Milton) and Evan Jensen (Medford) teams as they claimed the 2012 Wisconsin Junior Championships at Waupaca Curling Club. Curling with Jenna Haag are Chloe Pahl (Green Bay), Grace Gabower (Milton) and Erin Wallace (Green Bay).  Jensen's teammates are Zachary Taylor (Wausau), Ron Bichler (Stetsonville), Kelly Traska (Wausau) and Ben Miller (Wausau).   These teams move on now to compete in the Junior National Championships in Madison, starting Jan. 28. 

Jeff Erickson Rink Captures Men's Club Championship

Superior Curling Club's foursome of Jeff Erickson, Irv Mossberger Jr., Brian Bergquist, and Chris Bode emerged from a three-way tie-break to win the 2012 Wisconsin Men's Curling Club Championship.  Erickson defeated Madison's Ken Neidhart rink in the final game with a steal of one in the 10th end.  The Erickson rink will represent Wisconsin at the National Club Championship, March 3-10 in Mankato, Minnesota.
