Judy Maier - Recipient of the WSCA Service Award for 2018

Judy Maier from the Kettle Moraine Curling Club was recognized as the 2018 recipient of the WSCA  Service Award.  Her selection was announced at the spring meeting of the WSCA on Apr. 29, at Portage.  Judy is the third recipient of the award, following Bernie Dushek, Arlington in 2016 and Greg Dunlop, Wauwatosa in 2017.  Judy will be formally recognized at the Annual Meeting of the Kettle Moraine Curling Club on June 13.  Congratulations, Judy! 

WSCA Spring Meeting Set for April 29, Portage Curling Club

The Spring Meeting of the WSCA is scheduled for the Portage Curling Club on April 28, at 9:30AM.   Both the Members Meeting and the Board of Directors Meeting shall convene.  Also included will be an election of officers and an USCA Director to represent Wisconsin.  Minutes of an Executive Committee Conference call on Mar. 13 have been attached along with meeting agendas for Portage.  All members of the WSCA are eligible to attend the Members  meeting.

Viau and Marquardt Rinks win State Junior Championships/U-18

Suzanna Viau from Stevens Point and Trevor Marquardt from Poynette skipped their teams to State Championships on the ice at the Wausau Curling Center,  on December 29.  Viau compiled a record of 5-1 against the other three teams in the girls' bracket. Curling with her were Rachel Kawleski- Stevens Point, Ashton Osterhaus - Pardeeville, and Elizabeth  Rubenzer from Stevens Point.

Wisconsin U-18 and Junior Championships have begun in Wausau

Curling action got underway on Dec. 27 at the Wausau Curling Center, as the first draw began at 3:00PM.  5 boys teams and 4 girls teams comprise the field,  nd are competing for the Wisconsin Junior Championships.  In addition all of the teams meet the age requirements for U-18, so all teams are also competing for spots at the U-18 National Championships scheduled for Bemidji, MN in February.  The top two boys and girls teams will qualify for the U-18 National Championships.
