2018 USSMCA Bonspiel Scheduled for Wausau, Feb. 22-25

Perry Grueber, from the Wausau Curling Center has announced that registration is now open for the USSMCA National Bonspiel.  The event is scheduled for Wausau, Feb. 22-25.  Seniors, here is your chance to support the Wausau club and play competition from across the  entire US Curling nation.   Eligibility is for men with minimum age of 55. WSCA Fall Directors Meeting set for Portage Curling Club, Sept. 23, 2017

The Fall Meeting of the WSCA is set for Portage Curling Club, on September 23, 2017.  President Aaron Richard will preside over the meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 9:30AM.  We are hoping a good representation from all Wisconsin Curling Clubs.

WSCA Spring Meeting Set for April 29, Portage Curling Club

WSCA President, Aaron Richards has announced a revised date for the Spring WSCA Members Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting.  The new meeting date is April 29, since the previous date conflicts with The USCA Spring Meeting in Chicago.   Meeting time is set for 9:30AM.  Minutes of the Fall Meeting and January Executive Committee Meeting are found below.

One item of business for the Board Meeting is the re-election of  USCA Director, as Rich Lepping's term expires at the spring meeting.  Rich Lepping has expressed his willingness to serve another term as Director to the USCA.

Steve Day Rink Claims Wisconsin Mixed Championship

Steve Day's team  from the Madison Curling Cluib won the 2017 Wisconsin Mixed Championship hosted by the Poynette Curling Club, Feb. 3-5.

Curling with Day were Sydney Schmus, Dan Schally and Shalon Holbeck.  In the best of 5 series, the Day rink won the fourth game to emerge as champions with a 3-1 record.  Only two teams competed in the event; the other team was skipped by Tim Ebert, also of Madison.

The team now moves on to the USCA Mixed National Curling Championship, hosted by the Williston Basin Curling Club, ND on Mar. 17-25.

Ebert and Day Split Games on Second Day of State Mixed

Tim Ebert and Steve Day both notched wins with their teams in the State Mixed Championship on Feb. 4, in Poynette.  Ebert bounced back from the loss the night before to earn a lopsided 8-2 win over Day.  After notching single points in the first and second ends, Steve gave up a deuce in the third to Tim.  After that, Steve never had a hammer shot the rest of the game which entailed removing  less than  two Ebert count rocks.  Steve conceded after the 7th end.
